Philadelphia Folk Festival

Tie-dye and music fill the grounds of the Old Pool Farm in Schwenksville for the annual Folk Festival.  Whether camping out for the entire weekend, or coming for just a day, the Folk Festival is a treat for the eyes and the ears.  Multiple stages feature a wide variety of both well-known and not-so-well known folk performers.  Attendees can roam from stage to stage to enjoy all of the music.  Crafts and artwork are featured at vendor booths, and food and beer are available.  Watch glassblowers and candle makers practice their craft, and many of the beautiful crafts are for sale. Wander through the woods behind the stages and you will see magicians and entertainment for kids.  Travel through a forest full of colorful hammocks up a hill to see the camping areas.  The longest running folk festival in the country started in 1962 and from the looks of many of the folkies, you may feel like you are back in the sixties!  So kick up your heels and dance to a fiddle, or just soak up the music and atmosphere…..peace out!  For more information visit the Philadelphia Folk Festival website.
